Andre Hip Hop Intermediate

The purpose of this dance is to play with acting and emoting. Each section is going to have a different feel to it (like buck, femme, ridiculous, etc.) and the challenge is going to be less about picking up the choreo and more about really getting into the style and the feel of the music. Facial expressions will also be emphasized!

“Looking for dancers who are versatile(aka any background) and have good body control and musicality. This dance is neither foundational hiphop nor technical contemp (you will see); the dance will also be heavy on staging so please commit. Will be open but more critical to guys auditioning because there won’t be any ““guys version”“ for potential feminine moves or moves requiring flexibility(not too much tho).
Finally, the dance is (kind of/barely) about being ignorant yet seducing.”

“um just swag. no storyline or anything in mind, though maybe it could end up being something like that. just some songs i really want to do cool choreo and formations with.

will push dancers to higher level of performance and execution both long-term (ie. shows) and short-term (ie. auditions/workshops) and bring more gender-neutral swag/buck hip hop to dt. “

I would like to have dancers who are right at the cusp of choreographing, but just need that extra push. The dance will comprise of relatively easy but crowd-pleasing moves, teaching people how to match the choreographer and really perform.

This piece is about a storm. It will be fast and probably challenging, especially for those dancing en pointe. I am considering using both dancers on pointe and on flat (no more than 5), so please specify in the comments section of your pref sheet your ballet training on and off pointe, and whether or not you would like to be on pointe for the piece.

Super fun collabo about that spark you get when your eyes meet with that special someone’s. It’s happy, sassy, swag and smooth (yes all at the same time) The choreo may be challenging at times, but we encourage all beginners to join us!! (even if you have no dance experience). Be prepared to work hard and have lots of fun!

fun beginner contemp piece with lots of people on stage doing super synchronized movements (kind of kate jablonski-ish?) with both smooth/ballet-y and sharp/fast sections (like the song). i’ll be teaching technique foundations stuff too and focusing on musicality & style.

Tango-ey with a lot of partnering. There will be one or two fast sections, a couple partnering sections with some lifts, and a lot of intensity. I want to have a couple of main choreo sections that everyone can learn and perfect, as well as a lot of cool dynamics. Developing technique will be an integral part of this piece, which is intended for those with little contemp/jazz background to learn and grow. Also considering using roses as props.. but we’ll see about that

This tap dance follows a group of simple country folk moving to the big city to follow their dreams… but the city isn’t exactly what they expect, and it takes some hard work to fit in.
