It’s the 1920’s and the guys are running a very successful speakeasy. They have money and they have alcohol when others do not. They think they are living it up. Suddenly, along come the girls and they are all like, “Look at us. You have money and booze, but not us.” They guys decide they like the idea and start to get with the girls. Everybody is happy until the cops come along and break everything up. The cops show off for a while, but the girls come back and convince the cope to ease up, and everybody comes together to live it up.

The purpose of this dance will be teaching people the social dances that make up Hip Hop foundation. The first few practices would consist of running through and learning a large part of the Hip Hop dance vocabulary and some of the history behind the moves. Afterwards, the actual choreography would be taught so that the dancers can apply the foundation that they learned in the first few practices. I plan on running through hip hop vocabulary from the late 1980s down to the more recent moves of the 2000s.

This piece is about working hard to get to the top of a cutthroat workplace. Everyone wants to be number one and make lots of money but only a few will make it. With hats and a jazzy feel. I’m looking for dancers of all levels, especially those who want to improve their jazz/contemp technique. You have to be prepared to work hard on the technique as well as the personality, but it will be lots of fun!
